Getting started with the new billing platform

Learn how to start using the enhanced billing platform for your organization account.

Who can use this feature?

Outside of GitHub Enterprise Cloud, the enhanced billing platform is only available to:

  • Organization accounts on a GitHub Team plan created after November 13, 2024.
  • Organization accounts on a GitHub Free plan created after February 4, 2025.
  • Personal accounts (either on GitHub Free or GitHub Pro) created after February 13, 2025.

Beginning in February 2025, GitHub will migrate organizations on GitHub Team to the new billing platform. Organizations will receive notice 30 days before their migration.

For existing personal accounts created before February 13, 2025, GitHub will migrate personal accounts to the new billing platform in the future. You will receive a notice 30 days before migration.

If you don't already have access to the enhanced billing platform, you may be able to get started.

  • If you are new to GitHub, create a personal account on a GitHub Free or GitHub Pro plan or an organization on a GitHub Free or GitHub Team plan.

  • If you are new to GitHub Enterprise Cloud, set up a trial of GitHub Enterprise Cloud. See Setting up a trial of GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
