There are rare situations where a configuration change can cause your appliance to become unavailable. When this happens, it prevents the web server from restarting properly, causing the main site and the Management Console to become unavailable. The most common cause is uploading a bad SSL certificate or key. We have validation in place to prevent this from happening, however, it doesn't always work quite as expected. Fortunately, there is a way to access the Management Console to revert your change if this happens.

Emergency Recovery

If the appliance becomes unavailable and you are using release 11.10.260 or higher, you can gain access to the Management Console to revert the changes you just made by browsing to the following URL:

http://hostname:13337/setup/settings

The page may take slightly longer than usual to load as it is spinning up a temporary web service on-demand.
